I believe in many things. I believe in God, nature, the universe, and energy forces… I believe that nothing is random and that everything and everyone is connected. You don’t have to be religious to believe in something greater than you and me. Having a belief and a higher understanding of the world around me has helped me live life more fully. Feel a connection between you and the world around you. Believe in good karma and positive energy and your life will be more balanced and abundant. The Secret tells us, “If you knew how powerful your mind was, you’d never think another negative thought.†Open yourself up to the possibilities the world has to offer. Believe in something greater.
Believe in Yourself
No one gets in your way more than you do. Self-doubt is the killer of dreams, goals and motivation. I picked the photo for this blog with one thing in mind… how doubting myself while climbing that almost ruined a race for me. I’m terrified of heights, which makes obstacle course racing that much more interesting.
Finding a Workout You Love
Let’s face it, finding a workout you love to do and sticking with it is hard. I urge everyone to start slow and do something comfortable. If you love dancing, there are many dance workouts you can do either at home or in a gym. Also, don’t let one bad workout keep you from continuing your health and wellness journey. What do Imean? Ok, you tried running and hated it. Don’t stop your journey–just pick
something else to try. I personally love to switch things up and find many different types or workouts enjoyable. Here are a list of workouts I love and why! If anything strikes your fancy, TRY IT. It never hurts to try.
If you don’t need it, get rid of it. If it doesn’t serve you, let it go. This is easier said than done, but it’s also vital in living a balanced life. I believe that things that don’t serve you build up into negative energy over time. This goes for things and people. There’s a reason you feel good after you’ve cleaned up clutter… it’s a form of cleansing. It’s also a good practice to sit down and thing of how to purge every so often. Are you building up a lot of “things†that you don’t necessarily need? Are you not putting your belongings away? Do you have people in your life that don’t make you feel good?
Book of Intentions
A Book of Intentions, not to be confused with the Book of Shadows from Charmed, may help you unlock your mind and start living to the fullest. You could call it a diary or a journal, but what I like about calling it a “Book of Intentions†is you can literally write down your future. This is a book for you to jot down all of your goals and wildest dreams. It’s also a place for you to write down daily feelings of gratitude and affirmations. I’m a firm believer in if you write it down, you will bring it to fruition.
Find Your Stride
I don’t think there is anyone that’s in the middle when it comes to running. You either love it or hate it. I was one of those ones that hated it. Sure, there are some naturally great runners, but I think most people have to work for it. Running the mile in high school was always the worst day of my life. I wasn’t fast, I couldn’t breathe and I was always in pain afterwards. I was the student that got an “A†for effort and an “F†for time. I didn’t understand how people could breathe through the running. How are you that fast? Don’t you feel like dying? Am I that out of shape? Granted, I was always a little chubby growing up and didn’t play sports, but I was in the Marching Band; played piccolo. Clearly, I had good lung capacity.
