I value transparency and I’m going to be very transparent right now… the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have made it difficult for me to stay motivated and engaged with my workouts. With gyms being closed, I know a lot of us have struggled with getting the workouts we want. I was making sure to get at least 10k steps a day — for me, walking has always been a meditation, as well as good for maintaining a healthy body weight. But, California was hit with a heatwave that doesn’t seem like it’s going to let up any time soon, so I needed something to help me move.

The internet is an amazing place. So much information and so many creators offering free resources. Youtube is honestly such a great resource for many things, workouts being one of them. You get a workout without spending a dime and the creator gets paid for ad revenue. It’s a great exchange and everyone wins.

I started searching for my favorite workouts and was surprised at how many there were right at my finger tips. I created playlists for Barre, Boxing, Pilates, Yoga, and Pole Dance Conditioning. All workouts need little to no equipment, you can make yourself a schedule, and switch it up whenever you want.

Here’s my weekly plan:
Monday – Barre
Tuesday – Boxing
Wednesday – Yoga
Thursday – Pilates
Friday – Pole Conditioning
Saturday – Yoga
Sunday – Boxing

I focus on workouts that are 45 minutes or less. I like to get my workout done in the morning because I’ve noticed it increases my energy and boosts my mood, which helps me get more work done during the day. Working out in the morning, also helps me sleep better at night. If I workout too late in the day, I actually have a hard time falling asleep. Anyone else?

The best thing you can do for your body is find the exercises and workouts that make you feel good and happy while you’re doing them. You can get results outside of the gym. It just takes consistency. I encourage you to peruse youtube and start creating your own lists and come up with a weekly plan to help you reach your goals.

Here are my playlists to help you get started!
