I’m all over the map when it comes to sizes. I’m 5′ tall, a 2/4 pant, a 34DDD (so a S/M top depending on the brand), and a dress can run any where from a 4-10 depending on how it’s cut. Shopping for me is always a headache, but I’ve kept some things my mom used to say to me in the back of my mind:

  1. “Dress the body you have, not the body you want.” Meaning, different bodies look good in different things, so dress to flatter YOUR shape. The wrong cut can make anyone look dumpy, heavy, or sloppy.
  2. “You’re the only one that sees the size”. Just buy the size that fits… and if it bothers you that much, cut the tag out so you never have to look at it again.

I’m always nervous to buy clothes from Amazon. With so many Chinese companies trying to dupe us into buying knock off, shopping online is becoming more and more of a crapshoot. Typically, if I see pictures where a model’s head is cut off, I know it’s a bogus shop. I found some really pretty dresses on Amazon with good reviews, so I ordered a few. I was pleasantly surprised! And, I’d like to thank all the women who included their personal measurements and sizes in their reviews… it helped me determine what size I needed to buy! I was a different size in every dress… even dresses from the same brand.

Milumia Women’s Button Up Split Floral Print Flowy Party Maxi Dress Light Green

This dress is GORGEOUS. It’s got a wonderful flow. It buttons up the front of the dress and have a very sexy slit that doesn’t come too high. What I loved about it was how flattering it was AND it just draped the ground, so for anyone that’s a munchkin like me, a little heel is all you need. 100% Rayon and Machine Washable. Hang Dry. I’m wearing a large. Color: Light Green

Milumia Women’s Bohemian Long Sleeve Floral Print Tunic Dress

Many of the reviews said that this was very short and needed an opaque tight or legging underneath. Well, my munchkin status means it’s a respectable length on me. The body on this one is cut wide, almost like a batwing when you lift your arms. This also has a great flow to it. It’s longer in the back and slightly shorter in the front. Even though it has a long sleeve, it’s very light and suitable for summer. 100% Rayon and Machine Washable. Hang Dry. I’m wearing a small. Color: Black-Green

Milumia Women’s Vintage Floral Print Split Wrap Maxi Dress

I do really love this dress and the fit quite flattering and feminine, but there is no way in H-E-Double Hockey Sticks that I can get away with wearing this without a cami underneath. HELLO, BOOBS. The problem is, the neckline is cut extremely wide, which sometimes happens with wrap dresses. You could size up as much as possible, but you’ll start to run into gapping in the shoulders. I think it works with a little cami underneath, so I’m going to keep it. 100% Polyester. Machine Washable. Hang Dry. I’m wearing a large. Color: Navy_floral

Riviera Sun Tie Dye Spaghetti Strap Maxi Dress

It’s not a Milumia, but I did order a 4th dress from Amazon, sold by JUST LOVE FASHION. I live in dresses over the summer and I love anything boho/hippie… so this Tye Dye dress was a must. For being somewhat shapeless, it’s actually pretty flattering. Sometimes these types of dresses look like tents on girls with big chests, so I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t look like a sac of potatoes. Only problem… IT’S WAAAAYYY TOO LONG. It’ll need to go to the tailor or be tied up on the side, but it’s a total keeper.

100% Rayon. Machine Washable. I’m wearing a small. Color: Navy/Cream
