Does anyone else tend to feel bad for having “me time Have you ever been getting your nails done and thought, “why am I spending money on this when I could be donating it to charity I know there is always part of me that feels guilty for pampering myself, but I work hard and I need to start feeling more comfortable with taking care of myself, as should you.
I believe pampering starts with a good diet and exercise. Treat your body well and it will treat you well. If you’re friends are all going out for pizza and beer, but you’re trying to keep your nutrition on point and workout, then do what you need to do. If they’re good friends, they’ll understand. Take care of yourself. Your wellbeing is important, as is how you feel about yourself. Never feel guilty for taking care of yourself and definitely don’t let someone else make you feel that way.
The second part of pampering is all bubble baths and bliss. Pampering is also about making yourself feel fabulously beautiful. Yes, this is important. I live in gym clothes and casual wear. I choose comfort over getting dressed up and made up, but every so often, It’s nice to get made up! I find this especially true because I have a live-in boyfriend who I am head-over-heels in love with and to keep the spark alive, I have to take care of myself and love myself. I’m not all about the tight dresses and contoured makeup. That’s not my style, but give me some good smelling beauty products, a cutesie maxi dress, and some mascara… and I’m ready for date night!
But in all seriousness, I find that the best way to ease and feed my soul is to pamper myself. I encourage everyone to start with the first step of treating your body right, then make your body feel good. Get your hair done, get your nails done, run a bubble bath… whatever you have to do to make “me time†will help erase the work week or the argument you had with your spouse. Using that time to put all focus on you and making yourself feel good keeps your soul happy. We’re all about happy souls here. No more guilt about “me timeâ€. Pamper yourself. You deserve it.
