Happy Mind Exercise
A lot of what you can do for you mind is saying or writing down affirmations. These can be things you like about yourself or simple phrases like YOU ARE AWESOME. You ARE awesome. Everyone is. Donâ€™t let your mind tell you otherwise. Learning how to reverse negative thoughts is the best way to keep your mind happy!
Learn to be Flexible
Parts of my life are very regimented. I have checklists for my checklists. I do things in order of importance, methodically, thoroughly… being sandbagged while Iâ€™m knee deep in my process often makes me anxious or even angry. Itâ€™s not that I canâ€™t handle switching gears or expecting the unexpected, I would just rather take time to reshuffle instead of completely switching gears. I guess you could call me anal, but I know that I have a hard time being flexible sometimes. I know how I want to get from A to B and thatâ€™s all that matters. But in life, which is already a true balancing act, we all need to learn to be flexible.
How many of you are reactionary? Before you fully assess a situation, youâ€™re already reacting? Iâ€™ve been guilty of this too. Whether itâ€™s over-analyzing or overthinking situations or not fully understanding a situation, flying off the handle is never good for you or anyone involved. There are times to get fired up and there are times we need to breathe. Learning to let the water roll off the duckâ€™s back is challenging. But, in order to keep your mind happy, you need to learn how to stay calm. Eventually youâ€™ll be able to remain calm in any situation.
