5 Unique Yoga Accessories

I have a love/hate relationship with Yoga… okay, maybe hate is a strong word, but sometimes we’re not friends. I love the meditation aspect of it, but sometimes find it hard to stop thinking while also holding my body in some godforsaken position. I’ve had great experiences with some teachers and some not so great experiences, but there is something about the practice that always makes me want to come back and try again.

Why should you give yoga a try? Simply… improve flexibility, connect with yourself, trust your body, and clear your mind. It’s a workout for mind, body, and soul. There’s something really beautiful about that.

There are many accessories you can invest in for Yoga other than your standard mat. These 5 unique yoga accessories will aid you in becoming a better yogi!

I have a pilates ring and I love it – but I need to get one of those rings for my yoga work. It’s been on my wishlist for a while.

A yoga block is a must. When I haven’t done yoga in a while, I can’t get through a class without a yoga block great list

Those hoses are almost too pretty not to wear out. I do not know much about yoga, but I am interested in trying more. These accessories are all super cute.

Ok, I don’t know the first thing about yoga (even though everyone keeps telling me I need to), but I want those shoes!! Any advice for another angeleno that wants to try yoga for the first time?

I would start with a yoga flow class. I’ve had the best luck with that because it literally flows. The positions aren’t too demanding and it’s a great workout. Yoga Works has great classes and at one point there was a group of people teaching yoga at Runyon Canyon on the weekends! There are so many different forms of yoga these days that I would suggest to try them all until you find the practice that’s right for you. Hot yoga made me want to die… but you may like it. Those shoes would come in handy for pilates as well! 😉
